I am familiar with You Tube as i have used it to view Michael Buble performances, but had not used Google Video so that was new.

I really enjoyed watching Mosman Library's Author Talks. And I can see many possiblities in our own library to use both YouTube and Google Video.

I love the idea of using these tools for 'take a virtual tour' and online exhibitions.

I was blocked from embedding the video by IT but will give it a go at home

Wiki

I love the idea of using a Wiki to coordinate projects within the library. I think it would work really well with our Book Discussion Group and as a means to evaluate success of our Visiting Writers Program. We are also looking to establish a Wiki for our Procedure Manual - so this makes that task easier as i now know how to!

RSS feeds

Have worked on learning about RSS feeds today. Created an account and added in 5 new posts including powerhouse museum. I think RSS feeds are really useful and saves you time searching through torrids of information.

Well it is Week 3 of Web 2.0 and i am very excited about Flickr. I have been to Mosman's site many times as inspiration on what we can do in our library. And interestingly enough if i search for my place of work there are many images already up on flickr including images of my own library. We are going to launch a Flickr project in November the ' changing face of ......' . I think it will attract a whole new audience and will be a great way to promote our service.

finally i have set up my blog and am underway in the learning 2.0 program. I am very excited about the possibilities and as we are currently reviewing our website, i can't wait to learn new ways of marketing our services and reaching new customers. I really hope to use a blog for local studies and allow the community to give feedback or share memories on their suburb or street and what life was like then compared to now. the possibilities.....
